Thoughts on the Media
Wake Up America!
It's Time To Take A Stand!
Not to show any negativity when it isn't warranted, I have to be absolutely critical of the media. Today, they have become a group of liars, cheaters and thieves in a world which is more dependent on them than ever before in this "information age." Yet, these people in the media have short-changed the public.
There are 19-year-olds who are going to college today with aspirations and ambitions to become great journalists, writers and future historians. With the sleaziness and haphazard carelessness by those in control of the media today, those 19-year-olds in college are on a collision course with reality. There is no magical kingdom in the media. It is the biggest slave pit known to man. Many of them get internships to large media organizations, only to be serving as indentured servants for people who only think of themselves and have egos the size of Alaska.
What do these 19-year-olds learn in return? They learn absolutely nothing! They think that proverbially stabbing people in the back, hurting anyone they can in the process and profession just to get ahead is the normal thing. The reality is that it is not. The receiving public is lied to and all of the "shock and awe" that takes place is what helps the ratings of these electronic parasites so they can make money and their executives can further line their pockets.
Where do we need to draw the line? Well, we need to assess blame on those who convinced these college students that the media isn't the glamorous life that it is supposed to be. There's a national organization called the National Broadcasting Society/Alpha Epsilon Rho, also known as NBS/AERho. This is a sham of an organization. They teach these students on how to lie and cheat in the media. This organization is one of the many roots as to why our media acts the way they are.
If anyone wants to straighten out the media, a good start would be to remove the entire leadership that makes up NBS/AERho.
Fairness and Accuracy In Reporting (FAIR) and Accuracy In Media (AIM) are political organizations. They could care less about journalistic quality and integrity, unless it makes their "slate" of candidates look good. The United States is so polar and so divided that these two organizations are just as bad, if not downright evil, and on the same level as NBS/AERho.
The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) is just as bad, if not downright stupid. Do they know what broadcasting is these days? Or are they into looking into the nostalgia of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s and putting whatever is on the air today under the rug? They don't know the true power and potential the electronic media has these days if it leaped out of a box, unfurled its sheet covering itself and say "boo!"
Major newspapers are just as guilty of short-changing the public, in their case, readers. Just recently, the New York Times and the Washington Post purged several reporters and editors because a number of in-depth articles that they were famous for were made up! They were fake! They were untruthful! They were inaccurate! Where was FAIR and AIM on this one? They weren't anywhere that I could find them.
It is unfortunate that it is buyer beware on both print and electronic media. But there is so much trash out there in information land that if someone says that the sky is polka-dot, someone out there would believe it and republish it someplace else, or use it as a source for their own writing.
It's time for honest writers and creators to come out of our creative cocoons and our safe places and start being honest in what we do. The world is passing us by and there is someone buying something that is completely false by some creep in the media.
